Central Alberta Regional Innovation Network

CARIN Presenter Spotlight: Troy Klaus

Our Mission:

Technology development is one of the fastest-growing industries in Alberta, including the Central Alberta area. Innovative ideas are born every day, and the Government of Alberta has created support to turn those ideas into thriving businesses.

In collaboration with partners around the province, the Central Alberta Regional Innovation Network (CARIN) provides access to investment, grant, and funding opportunities along with coaching and mentoring services.

In the concept or start-up phase, Central Albertan entrepreneurs primarily focused on the oil-pivot, technology, agriculture, and manufacturing industries can participate in CARIN’s Catalyst Incubator program to nurture their idea into full realization.

CARIN Introduces Troy Klaus:

CARIN creates a new focus with each Catalyst Incubator and invites presenters to participate in their area of expertise.

One such presenter is Troy Klaus.

Troy is a Red Deer entrepreneur who used a similar incubator program called Startup Edmonton to co-found his tech-based start-up Doortender. As Doortender’s CEO, Troy offers his insights and experience to inform other entrepreneurs as one of the Catalyst Incubator presenters.

A Little About Troy

Before founding Doortender, an e-commerce alcohol retail app, Troy managed real estate development and acquisitions for Canada’s largest fuel retailer. Troy also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.

Utilizing a similar government-sponsored program to CARIN gave Troy access to the tools he needed to launch Doortender, along with funding and investment opportunities. As a result, his business was quickly successful, and he hopes to expand operations from Red Deer into Calgary and Edmonton.

Troy Klaus Presentations

Focusing primarily on technology development, Troy Klaus shares his personal experience and enthusiasm to guide up-and-coming entrepreneurs through the same process.

Learning from someone with personal experience and a vested interest in technology development in Central Alberta gives Incubator participants a unique advantage in the marketplace.
